The Optolong L-Pro Clip Filter Nikon Full Frame is designed to capture deep-sky objects contrastily, even in areas with light pollution. The filter is inserted directly into the camera body and allows the main emission lines (H-alpha, OIII, SII, H-beta, NII) to pass through, while suppressing artificial light and sky glow (skyglow). This darkens the sky background and makes galaxies, nebulae and star clusters stand out more clearly.
Unlike classic light pollution filters (such as UHC or CLS), the L-Pro is a multiband pass filter. This means that colors are faithfully preserved, without excessive color casts. This makes the filter versatile: from emission nebulae to reflection nebulae, from galaxies to globular clusters. An additional advantage is that you can expose up to three times longer without overexposing the sky background.
The coating is applied via the advanced ion beam assisted deposition (IBAD) process, which ensures durability, scratch resistance and stability under temperature changes. With a transmission of over 95% in the pass bands, the filter delivers maximum signal-to-noise ratio for deep-sky photography.
Application
The Optolong L-Pro Clip Filter Nikon Full Frame is ideal for:
- Photography of emission nebulae such as the Orion Nebula (M42) and the Veil Nebula
- Registration of galaxies, reflection nebulae and globular clusters
- Use in urban or light-polluted areas
- Longer exposures with Nikon full-frame DSLRs without overexposing the sky background
