Optolong Filters L-Pro Filter 77mm is a wideband light pollution filter in the form of a 77mm screw filter. This makes it easy to mount on top of a DSLR or system camera lens. The filter is specially designed to suppress interfering artificial light while allowing the important emission lines of deep-sky objects (H-alpha, H-beta, O-III and S-II) to pass through. The result is a darker sky background, more contrast and photos with natural color reproduction.
Unlike narrowband filters that often distort the color balance, the L-Pro preserves the subtle color differences of galaxies, nebulae and star clusters. This allows you to take convincing astrophotos with color cameras, such as DSLRs or mirrorless cameras, from areas with moderate to strong light pollution. Thanks to its wide pass range, this filter is suitable not only for emission nebulae, but also for galaxies and reflection nebulae that often lose too much color in narrowband.
The filter is constructed of high-quality optical glass and coated with a durable IBAD coating. This multilayer coating ensures high transmission in the desired bands, scratch resistance and stability in temperature changes.
Application
The Optolong Filters L-Pro Filter 77mm is ideal for photographers working with standard camera lenses and not using a telescope. Perfect for wide-angle shots of the Milky Way, star fields and bright nebulae, as well as photographing galaxies from light-polluted areas. Not suitable as a solar filter.
