Optolong Filters L-eNhance 1.25″ is a powerful dual-band filter designed specifically for astrophotography from areas with light pollution. This filter allows only the emission lines H-alpha, H-beta and OIII to pass through, making emission and planetary nebulae much more contrasty visible against a dark background. Disturbing artificial light from street lights (sodium and mercury vapor lamps) and natural skyglow is effectively suppressed.
Compared to wider light pollution filters such as the L-Pro, the L-eNhance provides an even more selective pass-through window. This makes nebular structures stand out more clearly, while galaxies and reflection nebulae are less suitable with this filter. It makes the L-eNhance ideally suited for cameras with one-shot-color (OSC) sensors and DSLRs used for deep-sky photography.
The high-quality Schott glass and multilayer IBAD coating guarantee high transmission (up to 90%), scratch resistance and stability in temperature changes. Thanks to the 1.25″ mount, the filter is easy to use in standard eyepiece mounts and filter wheels.
Application
The Optolong L-eNhance 1.25″ is ideal for astrophotography of emission nebulae such as the Orion Nebula, the Veil Nebula and planetary nebulae, even under urban skies. For visual use, the filter has limited use; its maximum added value lies in photography. Do not use as a solar filter.
