The ZWO ASI662MC is an extremely versatile and fast high-resolution color planetary camera. Equipped with the latest Sony IMX662 1/2.8″ sensor, this uncooled CMOS camera offers outstanding performance for planetary, lunar and solar photography with its 2.9 µm pixels and 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Thanks to back-illuminated sensor technology and the absence of interfering amplifier glow (amp glow), you capture clean, sharp images with minimal noise. As a result, the camera can also be used for compact deep-sky objects such as planetary nebulae or globular clusters - even with longer exposures of up to 2000 seconds.

Key features

  • Sony IMX662 sensor (1/2.8″) - high sensitivity with modern backlighting
  • Resolution 1920 x 1080 - ideal for planets and monthly details
  • Amp glow-free sensor - Interference-free shots, even at long exposures
  • High frame rate: 107 fps (RAW8) - perfect for lucky imaging and real-time playback
  • Very low readout noise (0.8 e-) - excellent performance at high gain
  • USB 3.0 connection - fast and stable data transfer
  • Compact and lightweight design (126 g) - easy to integrate into any setup

Applications

✓ High-resolution lunar and planetary photography ✓ Sun (with appropriate solar filter!) and sunspots ✓ Compact deep-sky objects such as planetary nebulae ✓ Electronically-assisted astronomy (EAA) ✓ Autoguiding thanks to ST4 compatibility ✓ Infrared photography under poor conditions

With the ASI662MC, you benefit from a smooth, detailed image without artifacts, all in a compact form factor. Perfect for use with barlow lenses, filters and as a fast guider camera in larger systems.
