Simply getting started with real astronomy
The National Geographic 50/600 Refractor Telescope is designed to be the perfect first scope for young explorers. With a 50 mm aperture and 600 mm focal length (f/12), it delivers sharp, calm images of the Moon and the brightest planets. The long focal length limits color aberrations and makes it easier to focus at high magnifications, ideal for those just beginning stargazing.

User-friendly and child-friendly design
The lightweight aluminum mount is azimuthal: you easily move the telescope up, down, left or right. The height of the tripod is adjustable, so children can comfortably look along. Thanks to the 90° star diagonal, you look relaxed in an upright position. The included 5×24 viewfinder helps locate celestial objects, while the moon filter tempers bright light for a more pleasant view.

Versatile - from Moon to landscape
With three eyepieces (20 mm, 12.5 mm and 4 mm), you choose from a variety of magnifications up to 100×. The 1.5× inverted lens also makes the telescope useful for terrestrial observations, from birds to distant landscapes. This makes this model not only a stepping stone to astronomy, but also a fun way to explore what can be seen in the distance during the day.
What we recommend
With the National Geographic 50/600 Refractor Telescope, you see:
- Craters, seas and mountain ranges on the Moon
- Saturn's rings and Jupiter's moons (as tiny points of light)
- Bright terrestrial objects such as birds or distant buildings
This telescope is especially suitable as an educational introduction to stargazing for children and beginners. Deep-sky objects are not visible due to the small aperture, but for the Moon and nearby planets, it offers just enough detail to arouse fascination.
