Celestron PowerTank Lithium LT 12V DC / USB 5V / 73.3Wh is the compact, lightweight battery pack designed specifically for the modern electronics of Celestron telescope systems. Where traditional lead-acid batteries quickly drop in voltage and can cause tracking errors or resets, this PowerTank delivers an exceptionally stable 12V voltage that remains the same until the end of the cycle. To do this, Celestron builds in an internal voltage regulator that consistently delivers a minimum of 11.8 volts and automatically shuts down the system as soon as the battery gets too low. This protects not only the GoTo controller, but also the motors, which are especially sensitive to voltage drops at higher loads.

The Lithium LT uses NMC (lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt) technology, an efficient and safe battery chemistry that requires little maintenance, has a long lifespan and performs significantly better in cold conditions than standard lithium-ion variants. Thanks to its low weight of only 630 grams, you easily attach the battery to a tripod leg with the included Velcro strap, eliminating the need to lay loose cables across the ground.

The 12V output powers the telescope; the 5V USB port simultaneously charges your smartphone or tablet. The included connector cable works directly with Celestron series such as Astro-Fi, NexStar SLT, NexStar SE, LCM and AVX, eliminating the need for additional adapters. The battery also meets current FAA guidelines for carrying in carry-on luggage, making it suitable for traveling observers.
