Askar AP 185/1295 Triplet OTA

Askar AP 185/1295 Triplet OTA is a top-level apochromatic refractor specially designed for advanced astrophotographers and professional observatories. With an aperture of 185 mm and a focal length of 1295 mm, this telescope combines enormous light output with a high resolution of 0.62 arc seconds. The triplet design corrects chromatic aberration to a minimum, giving you razor-sharp and color-neutral images even at high magnifications or long exposures.

Despite its large aperture, the tube is surprisingly compact: retracted, it measures only 1081 mm, making transport and assembly easier. The CNC-machined construction is robust and finished with a durable paint or anodization layer. Thanks to the integrated extensions, the telescope can be flexibly adjusted for both photography and visual observation, even with prisms or binoviewers.

The 3.5″ rack-and-pinion focuser with 1:10 reduction and 100mm setting range allows extremely precise focusing, even with heavy cameras and filter wheels. The 360° rotator with clear scale and sturdy locking screw allows you to precisely adjust and lock your image composition. The anti-reflection coating on the inside of the focuser prevents stray light, which further increases contrast.

Thanks to the wide Losmandy rail and sturdy tube rings, you mount the Askar AP 185/1295 stably on heavy-duty mounts such as the Sky-Watcher EQ8-R (Pro or RH). The slotted 400 mm handle provides additional mounting options for accessories such as a guidescope or viewfinders.
