Omegon Pro H-Beta Filter 2 inch is a specialized filter for deep-sky observers who focus on difficult-to-observe nebulae. The filter lets through only light with a wavelength around 486 nanometers - the so-called H-beta emission line of hydrogen. This type of light is emitted by specific nebulae that are virtually invisible to the naked eye.
Due to its extremely narrow transmission area, the filter blocks virtually all other forms of light, including starlight, moonlight and artificial lighting. This makes it possible to see, for example, the California Nebula (NGC 1499), Horsehead Nebula (IC 434) or Simeis 147 - objects that are barely noticeable without this filter even under dark skies.
This 2″ version is intended for use with wide-angle eyepieces or in photographic systems with 2″ filter holders. Thanks to the high quality optical glass and multiple coating, the filter offers maximum transmission within the desired band, with minimal reflection or stray light.
Advantages
✓ Isolates H-beta light around 486 nm
✓ Indispensable for observation of rare nebulae
✓ Blocks practically all other light - for maximum contrast
✓ 2″ mount - compatible with large eyepieces and filter wheels
✓ Suitable for telescopes from 200 mm aperture upwards
