The Celestron Telescope N 114/900 PowerSeeker 114 EQ is a classic Newton reflector for beginners who want to explore the moon, planets and the brightest deep-sky objects. With an aperture of 114 mm, this telescope captures enough light to see in detail the craters on the moon, admire the rings of Saturn and observe the cloud bands of Jupiter. Nebulae such as the Orion Nebula and star clusters such as the Pleiades also show up nicely.

The focal length of 900 mm (f/7.9) provides sharp images at medium to high magnifications. This makes the telescope versatile: suitable for planetary details as well as bright deep-sky objects.

The German equatorial mount (EQ) is designed to accurately track celestial bodies. Using the fine adjustments, you move the telescope smoothly with the earth's rotation, so objects stay in focus longer. This is a significant advantage over simple azimuthal mounts. The sturdy aluminum tripod with accessory tray provides stability while observing.

With the included accessories, you can get started right away. Two eyepieces and a 3x Barlow lens offer different magnifications so you can flexibly switch between wide and detailed observations.

Application

With the Celestron PowerSeeker 114 EQ, you can see:

  • Craters, mountains and seas on the moon
  • Saturn's rings and Jupiter's largest moons
  • The phase of Venus and the disk of Mars during opposition
  • Bright deep-sky objects such as the Orion Nebula, the Andromeda Nebula and open star clusters

This telescope is an ideal entry-level model for beginners who want more than a basic scope. Thanks to the equatorial mount, you will immediately learn how objects are tracked, a good stepping stone toward more serious observing.
