Sky-Watcher Explorer 150PDS - 6″ Newton on EQ3 Pro GoTo

The Sky-Watcher Explorer 150/750 PDS EQ3 Pro SynScan GoTo is a versatile Newton telescope suitable both for visual observation and for serious first steps in astrophotography. With an aperture of 150 mm, this telescope captures more than enough light to make deep-sky objects such as the Ring Nebula, the Halter Nebula and globular clusters like M13 visible in detail. On planets such as Jupiter and Saturn, it shows rich structures in the cloud bands and clear Cassini separation in the rings.

Thanks to its fast f/5 ratio, the 150/750 is particularly interesting for astrophotography. Exposure times remain relatively short, and the combination with the PDS version (with DualSpeed Crayford focuser and modified capture mirror) ensures accurate focusing and an image field optimized for cameras.

The included EQ3 Pro SynScan GoTo mount provides automatic object location and tracking through a database of over 42,000 objects. Motors in both axes track the sky smoothly, making both visual and photographic work easier. For beginners, this means less time spent searching, more time to really look or take pictures.

Application

• Visual: Suitable for moon, planets and bright deep-sky objects.
• Astrophotography: entry level, ideal for DSLRs and light astro cameras. The EQ3 mount is sufficient for short exposures, but those who want to go deeper soon end up with an EQ5 or higher.
• Practical: a 150 mm Newton remains portable and is still fairly quick to set up, although equatorial alignment takes some practice.
