With telescopes with short focal ratios, such as f\/5 to f\/7, and large camera sensors, you see the effect of image field distortion most strongly. The flattener turns your Esprit 120 into a true photographic machine, so your stars are sharp right to the edges of your image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You place the flattener between your telescope and camera. It has an M48 threaded connection with 55 mm backfocus, perfect for DSLR cameras with a suitable bayonet adapter. If you remove the adapter, you can use an M71 \u00d7 1 threaded connection with up to 75 mm backfocus for homemade adapters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The reducer\/flattener has three lenses and a reduction factor of 0.77\u00d7. This makes your Esprit Apo faster, up to f\/5.4, and creates a fully corrected 36 mm image circle. That's perfect for APS-C and full-frame cameras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
