Consider the outskirts of a city or a moderately lit rural setting. This filter increases the contrast of nebulae and star clusters by selectively blocking interfering wavelengths of artificial light, while allowing lines important to astronomy - such as OIII and H-beta - to pass through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike narrowband filters such as a UHC or OIII filter, this broadband filter is designed for a balanced combination of light transmission and contrast enhancement. You preserve color and brightness of objects while darkening the background sky.
